History

Battle of The Shops first happened in 2005. This year's Vans Bash will
see all shops compete against one another in teams of three riders each.
Previous editions of Zmz Bash had over a hundred riders representing for
shops all over the Benelux and France. Skateshop 911 from Bruges took the loot in 2005 and Zmz' hometown claimed victory in 2007, on Zmz tenth birthday.

Vans Bash '08

This year's Bash is all about cowboys, horns and yeehaws. Zmz-park will be reshaped into a huge skateable prairie. We're expecting courageous dustbowlers from throughout the Benelux as well as outlaws from France, Germany and Slovakia. The loot is conveniently pumped up to a very seducing 3500 dollars (2690 euros). We're pretty sure this will add a boost to the usual high skateboarding standards and are fully expecting some wild and jolly rides in this excellent, merciless battle. You're getting two for one at this year's Bash since Zumiez will be celebrating its 11th birthday as well and you do know what that means! Its notorious parties, glorious deejays, charming cocktailcabins, gazillions of liquor all the while rolling on till the break of dawn.

Red Bull Best Trick

A fresh idea for this edition is the Red Bull best trick contest. This will be an individual test of strengths on the made for the occasion bank-extension. Half an hour raging and madness on this tricky beast and winner takes all, 750 buckeroos (575 euros) that is!

Shoplist

We're still awaiting some confirms but these shops have all been invited to join in on the guaranteed fun.

About Zumiez

Skatepark Zumiez saw the light in 1997, Wevelgem Far-West-Flanders. The continuous finetuning, rebuilding and reinventing of the parkcourse as well as the unrelenting effort and commitment of the Zumiez-crew are the solid reasons why zumiez remains as the last honorworthy and eternal Mohican in a continuously decimating skateparkland. The park hosts 15.000 Belgian and international riders a year. The ongoing list of demos and international events such as ARZ07 elevates it to much more than just a local story. Teamriders including Axel Cruysberghs, Fabian Verhaeghe, Evelien Bouilliart, Fries Taillieu or Kevin Tshala contribute to the international face of the park. The park has been specially rebuilt for this Vans BASH08 and will without a doubt offer the best possible battlefield for this BASH.

11th B-Day Party

The skate spectacle is followed by the outrageous debacle. The eleventh b-day party will continue the tradition of all night raging and skating. The reguar party-area will be transformed in a saloon filled with music and drinks and where main act ‘Los tres Supermanes' will psycho-cowboyrock your hats off. As the bell tolls eleven free beer and tequila will flow and fill your guts. The park stays open for all-night skating! Saddle your horse, stranger!
